I have this P14 enfield I picked up and it has been sporterised and rechambered in .308.

Part of this process seems to have been removing the rear ears for the rear sight (though as you can see, some portion of the left ear remains, with a fixing hole), standard rear sights will not fit.

I’ve called GE rifles, Fultons etc and they don’t have anything that will fit it.
Has anyone else experienced this and do you have any advice? Perhaps a gunsmith you know that specialises in rescuing guns like this or a mount that you’ve seen that would to the job?

Looks like the left ear has been left on to allow a Parker-Hale Patt. 14 rear sight to be mounted.

I think you need a PH 5B as per attached pic. You would also need a short attachment screw.

Yes you probably would get away with one of those sights. You just need a shorter screw.

Wow. Called four gunsmiths before I posted on here. They all got grumpy with me like I'd butchered their childhood hero myself with a spoon. Thanks guys!

I'll find somewhere that's got one of these and take the rifle down.

There's a PH 53 on ebay , don't know what the difference is in the two but it looks very similar , only thing is the guy selling it is named Dick Turpin . clapclap

The one you want is the 5B. This is mine. If you find one it wont be cheap. You would just have to shorten the screw.

Thanks, I would but I can't use that feature, I see I have a pm but I can't read it because I've not contributed enough. I understand why these rules are in place and I hope a moderator will take a look at my posts and see I'm not here to sell stuff, spam the forum or lurk and that access to pm's might be considered reasonable.
