Looks like the US takes these crimes seriously.

I know a few years back eBay and the likes were plagued with fakes, especially Leupold MK4's, but I have not spotted it lately.

The link to the sight looks interesting, I wonder if they are any good at all or just monkey metal with lead internals?

It has crossed my mind that if you were to put one of these on a rifle that you were selling and not comment on the scope, if the rifle would fly off the shelf any faster!

Sometimes the 'replicas' will come out of the same factory as the original, good example being the iPad and the clone at 100 quid. Other will just be junk copies. I still remember one of the big sunglasses outlets being prosecuted for selling RayBan copies....

Just look at the Waffenamt stamps for KAr98's on eBag, if anything is desirable people will try and make money on it. :(
