So tonight it happened..... The handle eventually gave in after many years on my trusty old style (round tray) lee hand primer

Poor show I thought.... You pay next to nothing for it, use it without any problems for years and years and for thousands of rounds of ammo and then it gives in tongueout

Question is I know there's better hand primers out there (definitely not including the ergo prime which got me out of trouble tonight but quickly got chucked back in a dark corner as the pile of dung that it truly is!!) but has anyone who has had to buy a replacement for the excellent round tray lee bought the replacement lee and found it to be ok or is it a steaming pile of poo like the ergo prime?

Lee do offer spares for them!

I thought lee only offered spares for the xr, the website says they don't do spares for it any more and to send it back and they'll give you half price on a new one (as if you'd be bothered for the few quid they cost new)

RCBS Universal hand primer, Lee round trays fit them and do a better job of flipping primers than the RCBS one does

Same happened to my round Lee hand primer a year ago; I bought a Lee Auto prime from Kranks (£17.46), with square trays, which I hated. So I took both to bits, and found that the handle and lever from the new one would fit, and work, with the old one. So my round Auto Prime is back up and working properly; primed at least 5,000 cases since.

Is this what happened?
After a little research I replaced mine with a Dillon S1050 and a vibra-prime. Does the job well.

Worth a go, thanks, worse case is it won't fit as some folks seem to have happen and I've got a new autoprime to get used to, best case I get one that fits sign92

I do like the RCBS hand primer as it takes the proper press shell holders, i modified mine to take some of the bigger shell holders so i can conveniently prime Martini and snider brass.
