I just received notification that my licence is due to expire in FEBRUARY 2015 and I need to renew now as renewal 'may take up to 120 days'!!!!! wtfwtf
4 months to renew with no changes - why on earth would it take that long?
Oh, and they didn't send the form to renew with and I can't find it on the Durham website. I guess I'll try the Met Police's site as it is usually a lot better.
Am I just being grumpy (again) or is this just poor service?

Found the form COER 1B on the Met site. It's for what was the old blackpowder licence.

The Met ask for applications to be with them 8 weeks before and they send out the reminders about 6 weeks or so before that.

It gave me time to sort out the application and get a referee lined up.

However, 120 days for them to deal with it certainly gives an impression of inefficiency! I just hope it is 120 calendar days not working days!

After the utter slating Durham took from the inquest into the Atherton shooting, I'm not surprised it's taking so long. I imagine every single application is gone through with a fine toothed comb and then double checked....

Then again, I just read on another forum of a motorist in Durham that was threatened with a ticket for failing to display a valid tax disc on his car, yesterday!
Good to see they're not singling out FAC/SGC holders - they're clueless about MOST aspects of the law!

Without doubt, sometimes, the police are their own worst enemies....
