Hi,
I'm curious to hear what powder you guys are now using for your .308, specifically interested in those reloading in the 157gr-180gr range for use over 600-yards.
Thx

Hi TJC,
I shoot 155s pretty exclusively these days using TR140, but N140 is also excellent. I've shot 175s once or twice in the past using N150, which also seemed to give good groups.
Best of luck,
Gaz

N540 for 155-170 grains and N550 for heavier on shorter barrelled rifles (<26") TR140 for both on longer barrels. Both H4895 and IMR4895 will work as well if you are looking for slightly higher MV's

I've been using N550 with very good results (24" barrel) with the 178gr Amax but wonder how much barrel wear / impact there will be from it ?

Military surplus powder from pulled down ammo. Nice and cheap and just as good.

I use Ramshot Tac with a 155gr Lapua bullet. Prints good sub moa groups at 100m and is very capable for 1,000m.

TR140 with SMK 168gr HPBT #2200 for short range (5-600 yards and under), 175gr HPBT #2275 and Lapua 185gr D46 (both for >600 yards) with very good results.

Why not just shoot the military surplus ammo ? Or is it a different calibre?
