Schmidt Rubin and K98 for sale

As the sale of my .260 isn't going to plan, I'm going to try a couple of other items from the cabinet.
Firstly an 1896/11 Schmidt Rubin rifle 7.5x55 it was originally made in 1916 and was converted to its current spec between then and 1923, it is a really nice example of this model, all ser nos match and the bore is absolutely mint, it looks like the bore of a new rifle, it has an original sling and muzzle cover, and a face to face sale will include some GP 11 ammunition which it shoots really well, forget the K31 this is the one to have.
I'm looking for £375 face to face or £400 sent by Rfd.


Next up a K98 with a long and varied history, it's current configuration is a Yugo captured K98, it has been scrubbed of a lot of the Nazi markings however some remain, where the receiver ring has been linished and the Yugo crest applied, in the correct lighting you can just make out the remains of "JP Sauer & Sohn" and the date 1916 or 18 it would seem to have gone through a number of upgrades since then.
It has a good bore with strong rifling and is fitted with a laminate stock with a cupped butt plate, it has obviously been through the wars ( well 2 of them) it has an original sling and shoots really well.
I am looking for around £350 for this face to face and £375 by Rfd.

Arguably more accurate (though perhaps not in my hands) better suited to cast bullets than the K31 and I've got one so ner!

We were information gathering, ooman; trying to decide if there was anything to be gained by possessing a SR 96/11 in addition to our existing K31.

Yep, they are as has already been explained.

Better freebore for handloading and especially cast boolits.

Longer sight radius helps with better accuracy.

Being a 96/11 upgrade it has aesthetically pleasing addition of te half pistol grip and the fine fitting of the wood is a pleasure to behold and handle.

You really should get one you know, especially if you already have other Schmidt Rubin's to put along side it, start of a wee collection.

Also you could have the pleasure of the flexibility, keeping the K31 for those horribly fouling jacketed bullets and using the 96/11 as a fine cast boolit gun whose barrel once cleaned would never be contaminated again by that awful copper.
