Peter also explained that the programme gave an inaccurate representation of his views and experiences of the UK’s firearms licensing system, saying: “When I spoke about licensing the line of questioning had been about Section Five — competition hand guns — and licensing for clay guns in international competitions. By following that piece with an interview with a farmer I was made to appear to be speaking about shotguns held for vermin control."

(Peter Wilson is, of course, the Olympic gold medal champion in the double trap event)

In the unlikely event i was to ever be interviewed about shooting, especially by the BBC, i'd record the whole thing myself, preferably with a clock visible in the background the whole time to back up the time displayed by the camera

Let's face it, firearms of
any description will never be reported in a good light in this country.
The sheeple have been conditioned and brainwashed into believing that all guns are bad and anybody who owns one has to be a very dodgy character, and until somebody has the guts to print or say otherwise the situation will never improve.

There's another example coming on TV this Thursday, "Kids With Guns". Can't remember which channel.
It's American of course but we'll all be tarred with the same brush.
Such a shame they can't do a programme on our successful young sporting shooters instead.

Racalman, I have seen loads of kids with guns in the USA, young girls, guys./teenagers. they were all at the range having FUN!
The BBC are just a propaganda machine for our regime, they say what they are told to say - a bit like most of the others in fact.
Lets face it, the UK is a shower of p*** wimps scared of their own shadow thanks to relentless scaremongering by irresponsible journalists and news media along with self proclaimed saviours like the GCN idiots. Such people with irrational fears of inanimate objects need professional care.

I seem to recall that Nigel Farage spoke up for target shooters a few months back, when he advocated allowing pistols back on Section 1. The response from the media was predictable; that from the shooting community less so. We are often our own worst enemy...
David.

I don't disagree but you can bet the programme won't be emphasising the fun aspect. It's not the BBC by the way (C4 I think).
I just wish they'd show some positive aspect of shooting that was relevant to the UK but I know we'll never see it because it doesn't grab the headlines. I didn't see Mick Gault on News at Ten's coverage of the Commonwealth Games.

Racalman, agree with you absolutely, Bent Broadcasting Clowns only do hatchet jobs.
