TMT Precision Software

#1 Post by dromia »

On the NOE forum GB section I found myself signing up for an NOE mould I already had and saying that I should keep my mould list up to date.

I use(d) TMT Precision Software's Mould List by Tom Myers, however when I came to run it to day I remembered why I hadn't checked with it, my PC fried about 18
months ago and I replaced the operating system with Linux, which I wished I'd done years ago now.

Anyway I'd lost my copy of mould list, after moving to Linux I bought myself a little lap-top with Windows 7 on it for running the odd programme that isn't available in Linux, in my case Quickload.

So today I emailed Tom Myers who runs TMT and asked him if I could have a replacement, couple of hours later Tom came back to me with a link for a new download which is now duly installed and working on my lap top, just need to get the 180 odd moulds and their descriptions entered on it now.

So just to say thank you to Tom, great software and great service.

He has a lot of shooting related software and his site is well worth a peruse.

Just as an aside, there's an application called WINE which may allow you to run windows programs on Linux. I've never used it before so I can't comment how good it is.
The above post probably contains sarcasm or some other form of attempted wit, please don't take it to heart.

I have seen that but it needs far more computer ability than I have to make it work.

I have found all the programmes I need in Linux versions, the only programmes I need windows for is Quickload the the TMT software programmes I run.

So linux is no hardship, I run my business on linux no problem.
