Following on from my Custom Remington 700 / Accuracy International thread, how about a dedicated AI thread.
Many individuals do appear interested in the new AI: myself included in any AI - trying to balance the want / need aspect!

I have shown this here before but I never tire of looking at it any way!
Had a fondle today as it happens.
One of the last AE3`s made.
It is incredibly accurate at 900 yards.

It's in 260 rem with a 26inch heavy Border barrel. One in eight point five twist.
Zeiss Conquest 6 x 25 scope on a 20 moa rail.
Pistol grip stock in flat dark earth.

AI/AE Mk1 now wearing a 26" Border chambered in 6,5x47 Lapua, stainless/aluminium reflex suppressor with integral stainless heat sink and muzzle brake and a single turn PMII 1/10mil klicks. It is a development platform for stuff and is shot monthly to 1000/1200 yards with Lapua Scenar 123 grain bullets pointed with a system I built a while ago. It also has a stoned and re-sprung 2 stage trigger which helps things no end.
The first 7,62x51 barrel was eventually shot out and I have a replacement Border ready to go on however I fancied the change to the little 6,5. The barrel can be swapped out in under 5 minutes and zero is one klick difference between the two barrels.

This is now looking a little different, I have put on a Harris type bipod which is attached further back under the stock rather than on the end.
The cheek rest has been changed to the "grippy" sort by Victor Company along with some "infills" to close the gap.

The Viking always refers to AI's as 'Boring rifles' Mostly a reference to accuracy and as such she shot mine a couple of times before walking away however her interest has been aroused again now it is chambered in 6,5x47 and she has even threatened to give it a try one day....

Assuming its not raining and the temp is over 18'C I assume......
