Beam Scale Test weights

I'm just about to start reloading for a new semi custom rifle that I have treated myself to but I've gone a bit mental on the scope side of things so instead of buying an RCBS 1500 Combi, I am going to use my Redding scales and probably buy a Targetmaster for now. I want to check the accuracy of my scales, so does anybody know where I can get check weights for them?

...one has a spare set from an older RCBS Chargemaster 1500 which may be up for grabs

Try new coins.
They weigh exactly what the mint says they weigh.
A variety to choose from and the 20p weighs exactly 5.0 grams.

Coins or bullets are ok to use as a rough guide but not really accurate enough if you really want to know what your scale is doing.
I've just weighed 5 x 20 pence pieces
77.08 grains
76.44
77.62
75.84
77.00

I worked for a company for years that made, amongst other things, drug delivery and dosing units for the medical industry. They had a lab for accurately measuring the small doses (methadone

) during the commissioning stages and as I was a commissioning engineer I made good use of the scales. I now have a nice set of stainless steel washers etc.varying in size from 4mm-12mm all engraved with their exact weights safely tucked away in zip-lock bags.
Might be worthwhile trying to find a local company that has a similar set-up or even the science labs of a local high school/college.

Wow, very surprised at that spread of weight. Wonder if that's true of sovereigns etc? Presumably they are spot on in terms of weight?

Sounds about right as new coins are specified only to one decimal place in grams which is about 1.5 grains.
