What about a cheap spring balance?.....like the ones Asda etc sell for weighing suitcases when you go away.Maybe not super accurate but it may be near enough to give you an idea.

The cheapest way is to use a Wheeler trigger pull scale. They are around the £25 mark. The most accurate way is to use a Lyman trigger pull gauge - around the £60 mark. They are both shown here:-

I figured it was a better idea than the bloody stupid Mystic Meg suggestion, very helpful that one!.
