Which survival knife blank

I have been meaning to make myself a survival knife for ages however forging the blade from scratch is a non starter as I do not have the facilities to hand or the necessary experience, so I want to buy the blade blank and add my own handle and finish. Can anyone suggest a suitable blank shape and source for such a project?
I prefer full tang and ideally near finished grind as I am more interested in the handle at this stage. The knife will be a project for myself mostly because I seem to spend all of my waking time building things for other people so something for me would be nice.

"Survival knife" makes me think of impractically large and thick monstrosities in inappropriate steels and questionable grinds. Like a lot of fishing lures they are designed to hook the buyer rather than the fish. By trying to be a knife and a Crow bar and an axe and a frying pan they do none of these jobs well, weigh a ton and make the owner look a bit of a numpty.
In my humble opinion a decent "real" knife like a Mora no1, Mora clipper, Condor Bushlore, Fallkniven F1 or any other well r respected "bushcraft" knife would serve you much better and at a much more acceptable price. Most of geek are available as bare blanks.

I must admit the name Survival knife or Bushcraft knife immediately conjures up images of Rambo/Zombies/Ray Mears/Post Apocalypse (Delete as required) which do not sit particularly well with me. My goal is to build a knife for myself that has around a 3.5" blade, a full size handle shaped to suit me and to give me something to build for myself. Usage wise it is almost certainly going to end up sitting on the cabinet next to me or being used for opening parcels so not exactly a tool for extremes.

Bald monkey seems to be your best one Stephen

Too few bristles to be a badger there.
