Very interesting article and undoubtedly some individuals and clubs will purchase the system however it should not be allowed to stand in the way of normal and legitimate gun ownership.

And there's the problem, give an inch....
"In 2002, New Jersey became the first state in America to issue a mandate on smart guns, which stated that three years after the retail introduction of smart guns, "it will be illegal for any registered or licensed firearms manufacturer or dealer to transport, sell, expose for sale, possess for sale, assign or transfer any handgun unless that handgun is a [smart] handgun."

We are prime example of gun control getting fare out of hand ! To the point of not being even allowed to have .22 pistol.

Hmm, yes, it sounds like a great idea to me.
NOT! :cool2:
(and no, I'm not advocating unlawful gun use, but I hope you get the picture.

i think more importantly, with anything electronic esp with this device in the gun, the government could find a way to remote disable the 'smart' gun at any time they feel threatened !! but thats what the sheeple and liberals want ! they love the government so much.!

Meh - as long as it's not mandatory then I'd expect that commercial realities will kick in when it turns out to not be very popular.....

These things have been around in one guise or another for decades. They all suffer from a single fundamental problem: they're all s***.
