So you have your bench set up in your man cave, everything is where you need it, lighting is good, the radio is on (Or off) You need to load 100 rounds for whatever rifle. What are you missing? What little tool do you need or would like to try that you have never managed to find, or is not available or you have read about?

Gauges maybe? Or a case prep tool or a different die, a quick change thingy or maybe a powered something. Something shiny or unusual.

I am looking for loads of input here please. Nothing can be too silly and anything goes!

• Case Headspace Micrometer (like the MCS one, Not the RCBS one). (Anyone know where to get one of these?)
• Giraud trimmer.
• Some kind of powered method of cleaning outside of case necks (not a tumbler).
• Neco concentricity & case measurement tool.
• Dillon XL650 (with case feeder), for decapping.
• Dillon Super 1050, for sizing and other operations.
• Some way to mount the Giraud on the Super 1050.
• Fast, near-kernel-accurate dispenser.

This re loading business started out as a cost saving exercise but has quickly become a hobby within a hobby. So far this year I have had two parcels from Sinclair's and both had over $200 worth of kit for re loading in.

I am starting to wonder if I NEED more than a single stage press, perhaps not, but I am keeping an eye out on Flea bay for any bargains that appear..

My main wish should be to have a shed to my self. Last year I thought I had a space in our small square garden, unfortunately that space is now taken up with a two story Wendy house! Very nice it looks, but there is no room for a bench.
So I am in a partially floored Attic with my bench perched between the rafters, not ideal but just about manageable. Thankfully I have lights but have to run an extension lead up there to get power.

I have to accept that even if I did get my own shed/bench in a shed, it would quickly be filled up by the wife. Not the wife her self of course, just the junk she throws away.

A powered Case prep system is on the cards, I am waiting for the Lyman unit to be available at dealers other than Lyman. For some reason it appears to be taking it's time getting to the shops, EDIT, just noticed that Lyman have a available date from April/May.

My press moves a bit on the chipboard bench so a small plate of steel would be nice to mount it on and spread the force. Keeping my eye out in skips for that one!

A few years ago I began to wonder if I only shot so I could reload!!!! :lol:

Some way of mounting a small vacuum cleaner to the trimmer or primer pocket cleaner. Just so you don't get those tiny bits of brass everywhere!

A powder dispenser to replace the one the dog eat, would be nice.

a little tool for cleaning the media from a tumbler out off the primer pocket flash hole, i tend to use a k&m reamer but a special tool would be nice

A decent guage for measuring case neck thickness would be handy, I have an Insize one but I am not convinced with it's accuracy and tend to borrow one when I am neck turning. Also I am yet to find *the* neck turning method that gives repeatability and finish in an acceptable time. I alternate between my lathe and a Sinclair tool.

I can confirm it is a hard as granite to drill! I have some 8mm diamond drills coming for them so I should have something done soon, I need to know the base diameter of your DTI.

Any reason not to tumble before decap? Firstly, media hardly ever gets in, secondly the decapping pin would clear it if it did.

rox the main reason why i dont tumble before depriming is that when i are resizing your cases i need to lubricate them first

then i clean them after depriming by tumbling


admitadlyy other peolple will not bother at allor do it another way about

but this is the way i do it

works best for me except the little bits in the flash hole
