Vortex viper pst 1-4x24 looks well and works as good as it looks, or one of the other vortex scopes they really are value for money.

In the same zoom range see if you can find a Simmons WTC 1.5-5x20 (Philippines version), they occasionally come up around £70-£90, excellent scopes, I have 3 of them on my 300aac, S&W M&p15-22 and one waiting for my new Henry Big Boy to arrive.

What sort of shooting are you going to be using it for?

I have a Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24 and I love it. Not the cheapest option but very good value IMO. Illuminated reticle with a dot and circle combined with fine hash marks for doing hold overs and ranging. Don't forget you'll probably need an offset mount for an AR-15 (unless it has a monolithic upper). I have a quick release Vortex/American Defense 2" offset one. Not cheap but very well made and excellent QR system. I believe La Rue do something similar.

Or for a bit less than I paid for the scope + mount you could get an Eotech XPS2 (assuming anyone has stock). They are sexy, and I was tempted but I think what I have is more flexible.

would you require a big eyebox or would that not be important?

+1

I have one of these, and it's good out to longer distances too (depending on what you're shooting at of course!)

I've just ordered a Bushnell AR 1-4 (from the US).

I fancied something a little different (although the Vortex as recommended above was my other choice). I looked everywhere in the UK and couldn't find hence the order abroad.

Not received yet but due imminently.

Approx £150 inc delivery but not customs fees/VAT.

I don't think you can get them in the UK anymore which is a shame, because they look lovely. I bought the Vortex 3" offset QR scope mount from rifle craft, which is really nice.

OP look at these.
