Any friendly shooting clubs in Brittany?

Hi Folks,

This summer I will be holidaying in Brittany, not far from Brest. I think the Mrs will permit me to slip away for an afternoon if I can find a shooting club to go and have a blam or three.

Anyone know if there might be such a thing in the area, that would allow a foreigner to come along and rent a gun for some practise?

cheers

Salut,

Can't speak for Finistere (Brest) as I don't shoot there and anyway it very much depends of the type of shooting you are after, ie : pistol, rifle, Long distance etc .. etc...

The Corsaires Malouins in St Malo, Ile & Vilaine, 35, is friendly enough but given the average age of its members & the recent complains by neighbours, shooting has gone a tad boring. If you are after Olympic style pistol shooting it is perfectly acceptable. There are quite a few "licenciƩs Anglais" there. I took "des Anglais" with me as my guests but I don't know if they would let you shoot on you own.

La DuGueclin in Rennes, 35, is ok and has a 200 meters range. I shoot there as a gust & I don't know if you can just walk there if you are not FFT licenced.

EuroTir 22, on the border with Morbihan, was my 2nd club for while. It issmall, has only a 100 meters range but is a tad more exciting, relax & let you shoot the way you want as long of course that you are safe. The owner is a roastbeef & under his supervision I think he will let you play.

Bonnes vacances !!

Well, I was hoping to shoot something semi auto, but I dont mind really...

I am ignorant of the French laws, so I was rather hoping someone might steer me towards what I can legally shoot and where...

Many thanks!

You can shoot semi auto pistols and rifles in France in the calibre of your choice.

You will find there the list of all the clubs in Finistere.
http://www.tir-bretagne.org/index.php?o ... &Itemid=30

Contact them & ask if they'd take you for the day .
In most clubs it is left to the discretion of the president to let a guest shoot under the supervision of a member.
Euro Tir 22 is abt 2 hours drive from Brest. The owner is a Roastbeef. Try your luck.
