Places to go in London

I have had an email from a shooter in Australia who will be visiting london and he is looking for shooting related places to go and visit.
This is his request:
"are there any interesting shops in London worth a look? Not interested in the Hollis and Hollis type shops but more dingy collectors type places.
We have been to the war museum before, may try and go somewhere different this time.
Any suggestions?"
Suggestions please.

I can think of nowhere in London like that anymore.
About the closest would probably be Fultons!

Armalon might be a worth a visit. Not been in there myself, but I hear good things about what's inside. I think the London Proof House may do tours by prior arrangement - they're located with the Worshipful Company of Gunmakers, if I remember it right. The RAF Museum's good as well, though there's not much small arms stuff in there.

Salut,
IWM is shut anyway for refurbishment until mid-july. I am certainly looking forward the future new additions.
If he wants to see military weapons, you can suggest him the Army Museum in Hospital Road and the Guards Museum in front of Lizzie' s gaff. Not quite firearms, but if your friend is into old swords or islamic weapons, the Wallace Arms & Armours room is simply awesome. Had he not be Australian, he could have also appreciated the fine arts collection on display.
Shops-wise what is he after exactly ?

You need to make an appointment before you go.
I know its touristy, but the Tower of London have a fair few guns to have a gander at

National Army Museum is well worth a visit, went there on the off chance a few years ago after the entry/interview stages of University Challenge, been meaning to go back since, I was seriously impressed.

In terms of gun stuff?
Winchester isn't too far away and is home the the Royal Gurkha Rifles museum and The Rifles/Royal Green Jackets museum (I also believe the Royal Hampshire Regiments Museum is there too).
Radstock, not too far from Bath has a small but nice and friendly gun shop, A.M. Hobbs.
