Grouse shooting profits increase.

I guessing, that most of us will never be able to afford a days driven grouse, or walked up come to that. :(

I have seen enough of them and the occasional Ptarmigan but never shot at them nor eaten them. That is probably as close as I will get...

Over here the State DNR (Department of Natural Resources) manages the wildlife and I must say that they do a pretty good job as well. We have quail, grouse, pheasant, all the usual game birds. In season a licence to hunt them costs $10. That's it, buy the licence from any gun shop or supermarket such as Walmart and away you go.

£120 a brace is about the going rate I think. The buggers taste of heather when you cook them as well. Give me a hen Phesi any day, much more to my taste.

I have a day or two every year. I much rather prefer over pointers than driven and have never paid the prices stated.
They taste just fine.
