Pack of 'useless bloody loonies' comes immediately to mind. Not necessarily the women who dropped the firearms, but the men who were supposed to instruct them sufficiently to allow them to safely handle firearms, and manifestly did not do so.

Anyone notice how, almost without exception, the women dropping rifles / shotguns are leaning back away from the firearm before they even start. That, to me, is an indicator that they are (understandably) apprehensive, and have not had the process adequately explained and demonstrated.

Knowledge dispels fear. Competent instructors are essential.

When the University Club formed I showed some of those who were to become it's instructors one of these videos and warned them that if they let anyone hold a gun incorrectly (unsafely) for their amusement or laziness, I would ban them from any shoot I ran.

It's d!ckheads like these guys who put people off shooting, especially those who would otherwise be interested!

My ex was getting into shooting, I took her to a fullbore shoot, and damn, she was good, in all honesty I thought she could have been a natural. Sadly we went on another shoot, an informal 3 gun match, the RCO had loaded the shotgun she was using with 1 light 12 bore load, then a 3" Magnum load and then a light load, this thoroughly shook her up as she simply wasn't expecting it, it also had the effect of putting off her younger sister (who was slight of build and only 14) who was watching and as a result refused to even touch the shotgun.

This a$$hat put off 2 young women who were until then thoroughly enjoying shooting. All for because one stupid, chauvinistic RCO thought it would be funny.

Brilliant! Some people just enjoy shooting, regardless of the safety aspects. There are plenty of judgemental people who drive like these eedgits shoot, or engage in other equally irresponsible activities.
Sometimes safety is just taken for granted.
Not defending their stupidity but I'm not one to judge, I'm safe while shooting but have done my share of crazy on the bike etc.

I don't read my own signature!

You've got to look at most of these videos in context, they're either based in US or Russia, there are Rednecks in both countries. Most of the events depicted are not at organized shoots and therefore out of the control of any trained RCOs etc.

We can all say, 'if this happened on any range I shot at, I'd throw the person off the point and stop them shooting'. Thing is, they're not and never will be on any range we shoot at in the UK as if we did anything resembling those depicted in some of the events in the places we are authorized to shoot, we'd loose our licences quicker than that.

I've seen more than my fair share of bad gun handling. not least a guy who whilst waiting his go on the stand, lent with a loaded and closed U/O 12 Bore, muzzle resting on the toe of his boot. Somehow, it went off and there was a red mist followed 10 minutes later by the sound of emergency sirens! Messy!

I know what you mean Paul, however, many shooters think it's f'nin hilarious to give a rifle or shotgun with a heavy load to an inexperienced shooter and let them shoot it with no instruction on how to handle recoil. That's what eggs me.

Gave up watching after 90 seconds, cringe worthy stupidity at best, downright dangerous at worst.

Almost always those standing and shooting are standing wrongly, usually because accompanying partner is a dickhead who should not be in possession of a gun and setting up the shooter for a bit of amusement that could have serious consequences. Correct stance in most of these cases would make a difference but since a lot seems to be based on 70's lack of technique, people who just do not know or care about SAFETY and guns too heavy for the shooter these things will happen

Where these shoots are conducted in remote areas their is no control - such is living in a free country, but rest assured that any half decent RO on a commercial range would soon sort them out. Sadly it IS these d1ckheads that put people off shooting and give the antiguntards their ammunition

One of those videos was of the 577 Tyrannosaurus https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-EVqT3XEzss and I would challenge anyone to hold the bugger if you had never shot one before.
