I've just received an e-mail from Ebuyer offering the Contour Roam for £80, £50 off RRP. (Other retailers are available)
I bought one of these for SCUBA diving and skiing a couple of years ago and it's been brilliant, I paid £120 for a refurbed model and £35-ish for the waterproof case to take it past 1m.
I prefer these to the GoPro for the mounting options, they have a tripod thread on the bottom and come with a few different mounts for helmets, flat surfaces, with goggle mounts and others also available. The CCD can be swivelled around 360 degrees too, allowing you to mount it at any angle and still have a level image, it even has a little levelling laser!
GoPros are just unwieldy, generally sticking off your head like some mythical creature's magical appendage, crap for diving, skiing and biking IMHO, though they are fantastic cameras. The Roam sits quite flat against most things it's mounted to so doesn't really get in the way, it's heavier than the GoPro though.
The Roam has it's own little quirks but I think it's cracking for £80
I know it's not exactly shooting-related but it's not a GOM subject and you can't beat a good barrel cam
