Out of curiosity, how much do Finnish Mosins retails for?
Re: Tamarms...FINLAND...16 Feb....Finnish rifles aplenty!!
Finnish rifles vary wildly depending on condition...
Will check some prices now
...just had to find a serial no for that ladies rifle

Re: Tamarms...FINLAND...16 Feb....Finnish rifles aplenty!!
I recently imported 3 Mosin Nagants from Finland (M24, M28/30 and mint matching Remington M91 with ersatz bayonet adaptor). M91s generally seem to go for 200€ upwards however if you want something a bit more collectable then you'll be looking at 350€ upwards. The rifles that the Finns like to use for target shooting 28/30, 39 and 27 models seem to command the higher prices. The Remington cost 500€ because it's as rare as gold plated hens teeth (made by the Yanks, sent to Imperial Russia, captured by the Germans who fitted the bayonet adaptor then, possibly, supplied to the White Finns during the civil war)
Then you have to consider importation costs. Ouch! I find it cheaper to track down and import Finnish Mosin Nagants in Germany. Just found a dealer who has a large stock of unnissued M39s. Beautiful things!
Anyone needs advice I'll happily help.

Hmmm, we are keen to have another Noise Magnet ! A Finnish one would complement our collection nicely, as would a TKIV-85 !

Going to work in a minute but in the meantime Google B barrel M39. The one I've just ordered has the plum coloured barrel shank. Very nice! Put together post war using Belgian made barrels. Mint.

Is it difficult to import a rifle from Finland?

Not really, the easiest way is to find a local RFD who has an OIL (Open Import Licence) and has dealt with such things in the past and get it shipped over. The RFD may charge for the paperwork although personally we do not for known customers . Finland do not require an end user undertaking so it is just a matter of the exporter raising the paperwork and shipping it out. Downside is cost.
Alternatively you can do this as an individual however in theory it will not save you anything cost wise and can be quite time consuming arranging the paperwork
etc.
EDIT - I forgot to add being VAT registered is a bonus if importing from Finland.
