Man killed in gun shop in Surrey
How on earth was there a loaded firearm in a gun shop?

The above post probably contains sarcasm or some other form of attempted wit, please don't take it to heart.

It does? All I can see is "He said it appeared that the man had shot himself, but was unable to say whether it was accidental or deliberate". Have you seen something that suggests it was accidental?Dave 101 wrote:Sounds like he didn't check to see if it was empty , accident waiting to happen .

The way they've reported it, it looks like a bloke who was after an easy way out...
As for a loaded gun in a gun shop, I'd suggest a shotgun cartridge in the pocket wouldn't be too difficult to smuggle in slide it in the chamber whilst no-ones looking and punch out...
I'd be interested to see the outcome of this though...!

Just out of interest, how many times have you pointed any kind of firearm at yourself, loaded or unloaded, and pulled the trigger...?Dave 101 wrote:http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-surrey-26138248

Sounds more like the chap wanted an easy way out from the limited amount of information...

Very sad ...
I would be very interested in finding out exactly how this happened and I wonder which one of the following the shooter/victim ommited ?
-Treat all guns as loaded,
-Point a gun only on something you intend to destroy,
-Finger off the trigger until the sights are on target,
-ID the target + beyond,
Could it have been voluntary ? Maybe it was a suicide ?

For anyone unfamiliar with him, John Powell won the Queen's prize in 1967, is a keen Sussex and MR shot and is the UK Grunig agent.
