current Military calibre munitions

#1 Post by Dangermouse »

A bit of a pipe dream, I will chance my arm..

I would like to put together a collection of various inert rounds of calibres currently in use by the MOD. These are to be used as training aids for the cadets and to assist in helping them visualise what we are talking about. If the projectile separated from the case that would be good.

I guess a few of the common calibres as used by the enemy could also be of interest.

I am afraid that I can not pay for these as I am doing this off my own initiative, but I can guarantee that they will be used regulary and the cadets will enjoy getting hands on.

I can't get these through normal channels as it is in the too dificult box.

I have already got 9mm & 7.62,

Anything else greatfully recieved, pm for address.

Thanks to Stuck I now have .223 and .338 to add to the collection.

Any 50 cal shooters out there? Or shooters of Russian calibres?
Not worried about the make, the cadets wont know one from another,

Nothing bigger than 105mm thanks...

I have various military 7,62x51 cases here however I would have to add some different bullets as the originals are long since gone.

I've got loads of 7.62x39 and 54r cases, thanks to Badger, but no bullets. Both take the same bullet though so I'll try to get my hands on some and send the rounds to you.

And the enemy of the cadets would be?

The Scouts?

They use .177 and possibly .22 Eley Wasps. I have some inert samples of these you can have for free. ;)

"Heads," ooman, are where you p*** in a ship. The pointy bit in a round of ammunition is called the bullet.
