More media coverage, of a sort. The lad who wrote this is an 18-yr-old journalism student and he's backing shooting despite/because of the Farage farrago, courtesy of a little input from me. I didn't even know I was emailing the guy for publication!
In a few years he'll be working in a newsroom somewhere. It might be a local paper or a trade mag or, if he gets lucky, a big magazine or national newspaper. Either way, here's someone who could shape opinions on our sport in the future - and he has a positive view of us.

A well written article, very well supported by Gaz so well done to both of you. Now you need to sort him out with a trip to the range to get a better feeling for just what sort of people participate in shooting disciplines and how they are conducted. Or maybe there is a FB member at a range with guest access near to Greg.

"The number of crimes involving guns in England and Wales rose heavily during the late 1990s to peak at 24,094 offenses in 2003/04," reports CNN. But just because his facts are certifiable doesn't make the ideology behind it correct. It only makes sense to me that, as you bring a new law in, the figures for whatever has just become illegal are going to go up. It's also worth noting his choice of time period, since handgun crime fell approximately 44% after those first five years (although it's been revealed that crime statistics aren't all that reliable anyway).
A good article, but he misses the point a bit here - what became illegal was pistol shooting as a sport, the rise in figures was not caused by sport shooters breaking the law, as he suggests.
