There is nothing they can come up with that would have prevented bird from tripping out.

And both guns were licensed to bird.

Perhaps a quicker response from the Police on the day?...Who knows.

Armed public?

My deapest condolences to those who had their lives destroyed.

I realised reading this today that I never really thought about all the people involved when it happened, just the 11 dead.
Ambulance driver, taxi driver, girl with dog being asked the time and so on.
It must be a nightmare for that town every single day.

"One of the most contentious issues raised during the inquest into Derrick Bird's killings was that ambulance crews were ordered to stay away from the scenes of the multiple shootings."

I think that order to stay away was called for. We all know ambulance crew, fire fighters, police have a certain percentage of danger in their job but I do not think they should be placed on the firing line.

Quite right Christel...same here with Gurnos estate...ambulance and fire crew need protection...that's what was missing in Whitehaven that dreadful day.
