Now Farage wants to lift ban on handguns: After 'gay weather' row, women are 'worth less' in the City and his 'drivel' manifesto, is this the Ukip leader’s worst week?
The headline's all you need to read there. Thanks, Nigel. Thanks for instantly destroying any hope we had of actually getting the ban overturned in the next few years.

F&*(ing UKIP. Lost my protest vote in the Euro elections now.

Thanks for instantly destroying any hope etc ... etc ... etc ...

Sure Gaz ...
Cos ... of course ...
the two other muppet parties (*) were actually doing such a great, productive, wonderfull sterling job for pistol shooting as a sport , yeah ??

(*) I choose to ignore Lib Dem's as I am not sure they still exist and cos they would ban letter openers that even thinking about shooting as a legit sport.

Rumour (and it may have been no more than that) was that before the Derrick Bird murders the current government were open to the idea of bringing back pistols.

Typical spin of ukip hate by the daily mail there....forage is talking sense....how long till the press see the sgc 9mm being fired rapid on video? You can have that or a 338 lap but not a pistol, do me a favour and grow up....

There was a great deal of talk about returning .22 pistols back to S1 before the last election. I believe some people actually have letters from prospective as well as sitting Conservative MP's confirming it.

Seems that the run up to the Olympics would have been the "catalyst" as well as the Conservatives would have had a "political deniability" as even though it was Major's government that banned handguns, they did not ban rimfire pistols. That was Tony Blairs first job when he became PM.

All in all, the partial repeal went by the way side as the Coalition government wouldn't or couldn't get support from the Lib Dems. Like everything else, it's all rumour, but the most likely that I have heard...

Labour, given the chance, will only get more restrictive on gun ownership. Full stop. It is genetic, they won't change. Ever.

Now, Borris Jonhson is very likely to be the next Tory candidate for PM.
Do I need to remind you that at London 2012 Olympics, Jonhson wanted shooting to be the only sport children be excluded from the Ticketshare schools give-away scheme ?
I think that speaks volume of the level of support you can realisticaly expect in the future from the conservative party.

So please tell me now, who do you have left to pick-up & present the argument to Westminster ??

And thanks to Farage the Telegraph have gone running to Peter Squires (you know, Gun Control Network) to shout him down and all the political journalists of the national papers are using this as a stick to beat him with: "Look at this idiot, he wants to give people GUNS! What a buffoon, eh?"

Not to mention the Sun coverage (not a subscriber so can't read), usually the Times aren't far behind the Sun...

Well done, Nigel. You've got all the influential newspapers queueing up to bash lawful firearms ownership in the UK.

Completely Untrue. That story was garbage - complete and utter nonsense spread by mischief makers.

Where do they get these semi-literate keyboard mashers? Do they have a warehouse full of monkeys with typewriters?
