Enfield No.4 foresight mounting block

Quick one. I have read that the retaining pin for the foresight mounting block on the No.4 comes out from left to right. Very good - but no source I've found says whether that's as viewed from the muzzle or looking down the sights.
I'm robbing my de-ac of its foresight mounting block for a live rifle, so am keen not to wreck it altogether.

The pin should be tapped out from the right hand side. They were inserted from the left. Left on the rifle is when its in the shoulder, bolt handle is on the right. Once the pin is out replace it with a roll pin of correct diameter (I have some and it was an authorised replacement according to my RAF armourer's notes, my No4 is modded this way).

Drift out from the side where the pin has the smallest diameter .

Problem: I'm trying to scavenge a foresight block from a de-ac to put on a live rifle. Except the roll pin absolutely will not budge. I only have a 16oz claw hammer so can't get too much force onto it.
It's currently soaking in 3-in-1 oil while I mollify my girlfriend after 30 solid minutes of hammering and swearing. Any suggestions?

Do you want me to remove that one for you as well as the one I did for you last week?

I'm alright now, ta - took a close look at the old block and managed to sort it out. (I shan't mention pliers and files... !) Thanks for the roll pins, much obliged.
