Just spotted this website...one lives and learn

Anyone been? Worth going?

Sadly I have not, wife and two girls would have no interest at all.

A friend had me laughing, he was enjoying a day out with his family and took the opoertunity to sit in a drivers seat. As he did it got very dark as an enormous American lady tried to get through the commanders hatch. He said that he had never in his life fealt claustrophobic, but he started to panic after having the thought "what would happen if she had a heart attack"? He said that he really started panicking, there was no way anyone was going to be able to shift her short of cutting her out and that would take hours. She did not and he shot out of the tank as soon as she was clear, much to his wifes amusement as he was sweating and shaken.

From the History Channel program I seem to remember one of the guides is an ex panzer crewman.

Just up the road from me and well worth a visit (or six) with some very interesting displays and lots of work in progress. The Sherman that I have been helping to restore is planned to be up there this year for the open day-if we pull our fingers out!
I think a bit of the tank/armoured vehicle driving track might have disappeared into the sea recently in the storms but there is still acres left.
I have heard whispers that the airfield there has been used as a staging point for the recent USAF helicopter tragedy as the crash site is only a mile or so down the beach.

I have been a couple of times and thought it was good.

I hadn't heard of it I'm surprised to say, but it's now on the list for later this year.

Yes, we've been. (Just up the road from where the helicopter crashed last week )

The UK Tank Club have a good relationship with them, so much so that their 10th anniversary do was held there and we had free run of the place before the public got in :goodjob: We were allowed to climb over a lot of the exhibits and camped for the weekend.
Well worth a visit.

Toffe, are you a regular visitor to the 40's weekend? This was our mode of transport for getting to Sheringham/Holt last year.
