Lapua 308 Palma decapping

OK peeps
I have been playing with the Lapua Palma small primer brass, now I've hit a minor over sight on my part
I have realised that my standard dies have the wrong size de-capping pin ie the larger diameter pin is to large for the smaller flash hole :cool2: :cool2: .
I plan to use my RCBS neck sizer die, now the question is can I just buy some small pins and put them in my the normal 308 dies??
Any help will be appreciate
Alan

You can pop it in a lathe and machine it to the new size or cordless drill and take it down with a file and emery.

hi 20Series
or use the
Lee Universal Decapping Die
I bought small pin but still had occassional (like 1 / 25) hookups)

Will the Lee Universal Decapper work on small primer holes.

How would you hold it in the lathe Ovenpaa.

310 die set decapping pins fit small flash holes fine, I use them on brass with tight flash holes.

I use a collect chuck however I seldom do this as invariably end up machining new pins for people instead. My favourite is take a Lee Full length Sizer, open it up inside, then take the stem machine down the tip to suit small primers and machine the expander off and you have an instant universal de-capper. This means I do not have to worry about cleaning brass first, then knocking the primers out and then cleaning the pockets, I just pop the primers, tumble and the size or neck size and load.
