My bullets finally arrived so now it is time for some reloading and load testing with the AR. Ramshot Tac from 21.9grains up to 24.3grains in .2 increments. Bullets are 80g sierra MKs. CCI small rifle primers and once used PP Brass (will use Lapua next time but cash is tight!)

Why are you starting with 80 Grain SMKs?

Cci-400 primers? If so, suggest you stop now. If br4 or 450s then crack on.

The cci-400 doesn't like pressure, even for below max - on a 204 ruger they pierced at a mid load. Change or primer and all was well so wouldn't use them again apart from maybe 222 or 22 Hornet.

Started with the SMKs as they were very cheap! A friend offered them up at knock down price. The primers were 450s.

That load ought to work nicely. :)

The 80 SMK is a nice bullet for long range, but single loading them is going to take a while. If you are thinking of mag feeding you've got the wrong bullet unless you have some LRP Mags.

Yes, thanks for the info John. I was indeed wanting to run them through a standard mag which as you know did not work out to well. Now looking for a more suitable bullet and will keep these for single loads/long range stuff.
