Swiss K11 made in 1926, issued twice according to the soldier tag under the buttplate

Image

Private stamp from 1964 so I'm assuming the second soldier was issued the carbine about 1946. Purchased it over the internet from Simpson Ltd. The only issue with it is that the bolt knobs are in very rough shape. Ordered two replacement sets from Switzerland. Not cheap but the replacements should be very durable since they are made from a type of plastic.

Hope to take it to the range tomorrow for a try.

I have its twin (almost!) made in 1919.
You will be chuffed to bits with it.

If it's not too personal, how much did you pay for that work if genius?

It cost me $290 delivered. Don't tell the wife, she's still annoyed about the gun locker I bought yesterday to ease the crowding in the other three on hand!

Simpon Ltd is having a sale on K11s, apparently they imported hundreds from Switzerland and perhaps the carbines aren't moving very fast. They also imported a large number of K31s at the same time which are more popular in the U.S. and those are almost all gone.

My other K11 converted from a 1900 short rifle and mustered out in 1946. It is in better exterior shape than my newest K11 but shoots just the same as the plainer one. The Swiss took good care of their firearm's internals.

Very lovely rifle!
I can only just get one for the same in pounds, typical of this bloody country!
How's the ammo price/supply over there?

Ammo supply is no problem. There was a lot of surplus 7.5mm ball available for awhile but that seems to be drying up. Commercially the PP ammo is the best deal around here, about $14.95 per box of 20. I reload for my Swiss rifles. I use either 7.5x55 cases or .284 Winchester cases opened up to .30 size. I purchased 1,000 M72 surplus .30 173gr FMJBT bullets several years ago and I'm working my way through them. I usually use IMR 4320 powder since it meters very well in my powder thrower. I like the .284 cases because they are very stout due to their thick walls. I've had some 7.5x55 cases separate at the base after 3-4 full length resizing.
