At the weekly Historic Section meeting today I brought along some Martini actioned rifles from my collection to show the evolution of the type from military to civilian guise.
Our resident David Bailey, jjvc, was on hand to capture the moment so here are his photographs.
From top to bottom.
Large action Martinis
577/450 Martini Henry MkIV, (not issue rear sight).
.303 British civilian Martini Enfield.
.22 SMRC conversion by Bonehill, this rifle was originally in 577/450, then converted to .303 British and finally converted to its current .22RF calibre.
Small action Martinis.
310 Cadet by BSA, the one that started this famous line.
BSA No 8
BSA 12/15
What can one say but Phwoarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Proper rifles.
