Hi all, as you know I am currently awaiting my eight rifle variation coming back to me and apart from a full Bore AR, VZ and maybe even a Romanian AKMS, most of the rest will be historic military rifles and I have a penchant for Carbines.

C&G had an Mosin M38 listed but on checking stock they only had the M44 in, I also liked the look of the FR8 spanish Carbine but at £600 it's a little rich for me right now.

Although not an actual Carbine I am also on the lookout for a K98 at the right price, not too worried about whether it's German or not. Is there any other Carbine sized rifles that I should be looking out for? I would prefer a calibre that ammunition is not too hard to find.

If anyone has any suggestions or knows of dealer stock or something I'm interested in for sale, I'll take it too the for sale and wanted forum, so please no formal offers here.

Steyr M95/30 - pure shoulder thumping, fire breathing, concussion inducing fun! :shakeshout:

If you want something a bit more sedate you could try a M91/28 Carcano.

Swedish M38 are very nice guns and not one that require a second mortgage to fund...

M44 carbines are nice rifles and nice ones are cheap enough and if you can find a Romanian one they are quite rare as Mosins go.
Dave at Minsterley Ranges has a couple of nice MK5 Jungle carbines in as well as a Columbian Mauser carbine in 30.06 (that things a real boomstick!).If you are into carbines you might consider a Saiga MK/AK-104 with a skeleton sidefolder over a Romanian AKMS.

Thanks for the options folks, all nice rifles but my present variation has 7.62-39, 7.62-54, and 7.62 /308, I also have the 7.92 for a mauser variant, so something in those calibres will have to do me for now anyway.

No mentions of caliber when you asked for suggestions...

There are quite a few ex banana republic 7.92 Mauser type carbines hanging about on gunshop racks that would make a nice fun gun, I was looking at a nice persian mauser carbine earlier this year before i was tempted by a Very nice 1915 Amberg G98

We have a few carbines, ooman (they make pawdy* tunnel guns) and can recommend:

1. Lee Enfield no 5 Jungle carbine (very thumpity)
2. Yugoslav M48 Mauser carbine (accurate and inexpensive)
3. K31 Swiss carbine (precision engineered accuracy)
4. Ruger 96/44 (awesome for popping down a charging boar)
