Slots on your first ticket

I have a hunch, nothing more than that, that police forces are operating a "maximum number of slots" policy on the grant of new FACs.

So here's a very scientific and rigorous poll (ahem) to test that out. If you were granted your FAC in the last few years, please say how many slots you received. Do comment if you were granted fewer slots than you asked for.

I'm particularly keen to hear of grants requesting 4 or more firearms being knocked back, "persuaded" to reduce them or arbitrarily shrunk by the licensing department.

Me, I asked for 6 firearms and got 4, despite what seemed to be a productive and useful conversation with the FEO explaining what I wanted and why.

South Yorks only have space for 5, having drawn a table on the form, thir forms are a POS though so I've used the ones from Sussex instead and asked for 6 slots :D
We'll see what they come back with

I got what i asked for and that was 8 'slots'. The only thing i got knocked back on was .22lr ammo allowances, i asked for 1000/1200 but got the standard 500/600. (that was 8 years ago though)

That long ago I don't remember but from what I was shooting at the time, 40 odd years ago, I would hazard a guess at half a dozen.

Regarding the tables on the form 101 they are not fit for purpose, with around 80 slots currently on my personal FAC all I do is attach tables of what I possess and what I wish to acquire along with ammunition tables and just write see attached sheet 1, sheet 2 etc.

When I am submitting form 101 for variations I just write see current FAC other than any additional requests which get entered on the appropriate table.

My firearms licensing are more than happy with this approach.

I asked for 5 and got them as I had bought a 5 gun safe and declared it so. Where I live they like the safe capacity to match the number of firearms held.

I got two 7.62x39, .223/5.56, .22+ moderator and 7.62, also they upped my Ammo to hold from 500 to 600

Now changed to two 7.62x39, two 7.62x54r, 7.62/.308 and the .223/5.56 slot

I feel I need another 7.62 slot for a SVT-40 ;)

I'll let you know how I get on next week as my FLO is returning to discuss my request for eight rifles and four moderators, I have held my FAC for fifteen years though but never requested any personal firearms .

I have a double width cabinet with room for six rifles on the rear and two on the door, it is tall with an ammunition safe inside and I also have a floor bolted safe that I could fit additional ammo in.

Salut,

Asked for 7, got 6 .
Not bad for a dodgy looking jack-foreigner frog ;)
