Just sitting down with a cup of tea after an hour and a half at the Pro Melt casting 310 Cadet boolits from my 5 cavity Accurate mould.

Ran the pot at 685 degrees on my PID and had the mould at 385 degrees on my mould thermometer, this mould likes to be cast slightly on the cool side with just a bit of resistance when you open the sprue plate.

Heated the mould up in the melt to temperature and it was dropping good boolits from the first cast, steady away keeping the mould at temperature with a regular casting cadence and 90 minutes later I had in excess of 850 good boolits ready for tumble lubing in 45/45/10. Once loaded that will keep me going 'till the festive, shooting the HARC leagues and some fun shooting.

If only life was so simple and relaxing.

Not really once you get the temperature of the melt right of you jolly well go. You would not like to donate a 100 of them to a poor Northerner would you Adam.

Multi cavity moulds and a good bottom pour pot can give you a good production rate.

With arthritis now in my spine, shoulders and hands I can't cast for long, usually I just manage hour long sessions but as things went so well today I stuck for as long as I could but I'm feeling it now. So I like to get as many done in a sitting as possible, because of my weak hands I like aluminium moulds and usually go for four cavities rather than 5 or 6 to keep the weight down. I got this one cut as a five cavity because it is only a 120 gn boolit, the weight differences may seem small to start with but after 3/4 of an hour I am noticing it.

I am going to get Tom at Accurate to cut me another of these moulds as I will then work two at a time which will increase production more as these moulds like to be run cool there is plenty of time for running a second mould.

What is up? Have you broken the last 6 cavity 310 cadet mould I lent you?

I will, I have cast 2000 off of your mould in the last 2 weeks
Don't know what I'd do without it.

On a serious note why is the 310 cadet boolit heeled could you not use a straight walled case and boolit like the 38 special.
Any re loading data for loads you have used on the clubs indoor range would be a bonus.
I have woken the old Girl up and dragged her out of the cabinet I am rubbing her down with linseed oil and trying to explain to her that its nothing to worry about I am just going to blow the soot out of her tubes.
