Quick one. I bought a .22" No.4 conversion (range report to follow when I have time to breathe!). It shoots straight enough, but every now and then it fails to extract the fired case. I don't know if it refuses to extract live rounds. Cases tend to extract about halfway and then stop. The bolt continues - I guess the extractor claw rides over the case rim. Closing and opening the bolt again tends to clear the case 99% of the time.

The rifle is mechanically identical to a C.No.7, if that helps. The 303 mag follower has been replaced by a loading platform which sits on the original spring.

Could be that the extractor spring has lost is 'springiness' and needs replacing. Also check under the extractor for a build up of crud which will stop the extractor getting a firm grip of the case rim. Also the extractor may be worn on its tip where it catches on the case. If worn you may be able to stone it so that it grabs the case or its new extractor time. For spares you could try EFD or Jim Hallam.
As a last resort speak to Colin in Fultons.

Cheers Steve - will have a look at the extractor. May give EFD a ring (I bought the rifle off them) to check the .22 extractor spring is the same as the 303 variety.
