Remington 700 mag conversions...?

#1 Post by Sim G »

A quick question for those who know, one of the mag conversions to a Remington 700, by replacing the bottom metal with one of the units by Badger Ordnance or Atlas Worx, that uses Accuracy Int mags, is it the same short action bottom metal for a .223 chambered gun, as is used for SA .308's? Obviously this is to use AI polymer .223 mags....
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

As opposed to measurements, would you have something in stock that would suffice? Looking to potentially convert an HS Precision stocked Remy 700 in .223, to a detach mag system.

Still working on the particulars of the other we spoke about....

I might be interested in that as well, same stock, but a .308 action.

I have one type of bottom metal, vapour honed, black anodised 6082 T6 it is designed to accept the AICS 5 and 10 round magazines. They would be GBP108.95 +VAT to F-B(UK) members. You might be able to get cheaper however you will not get better in my opinion, I am very, very pleased with them.

The 10 round AICS is for show only and is not included although I can supply them in both 5 and 10 round.

And just to qualify, this will work in a .223 with the appropriate mag?

I might be taking a trip to Beds....
