Xmas present!

I notice we haven't got an 'Xmas present' section on the forum so Mods please be gentle with me!!

With 'The Big Mans' impending visit, (can I still say that?) my wife has asked what I would like him to bring me. Well, a pair of binoculars would be real useful.

I'm therefore asking if anyone has any first hand suggestions please?

Use will be mainly RO range use so compact and waterproof. Probably 8x mag. No gimmicks (more to fail!) Plus the ability to admire nature

I use a pair of Steiner 8x for RCO duties, they are compact, lightweight and did not break the bank. Another worthy alternative would be Vortex, I looked through some recently and was very impressed.
