I am considering acquiring a Schmidt Rubin. Does anyone have any advice on what to look for, prices, good sellers?

they're all good, G11,K11 or K31, they all shoot well and most look like they have been dragged over the Alps in summer! prices are a bit all over the place at the moment, £300-500 should get you a K31 (the newest of the bunch )

Don't consider it, go for it. £300 to £500 depending on how much character it has got. The K31 in my opinion is the best of the bunch but they are all good.

Nice one guys. I shot one over the weekend so with the Trafalgar meeting coming up I am thinking of putting in a cheeky variation. What are the ammo prices like?

Horrendous ! GP11 is about £60 to £65 /100 but shoots superbly. Privi is around the same price and more easily re-loaded. Paul at http://www.thamesvalleyguns.co.uk/ has them in from time and he's a delight to deal with. The K31 we have is probably our most accurate rifle.

They are all good shooters. Very slick straight-pull action and excellent build quality. Ammo costs around £68 / 100 for PPU (reloadable) while the surplus stuff runs at around £63 / 100. The surplus is berdan-primed and therefore slightly more difficult from a reloading viewpoint. Saying that, there is no denying the quality of this ammo. Loads of info over at Swiss Rifles.com and probably all the answers to your questions.

Buy one if you can find one. You won't regret it.

that may well have been my one, if you had the STG44 clone
reloads with PPU brass work out around 45p a bang GP11 has gone up a lot in the last couple of years, but is still cheaper than .303 (just)

Get one very good shooters, one for sale on here good price as well looks to be in very good condition.

I've owned at least 12 SR variants over the years and never disappointed with any of them. The K11 is bit more slick than the K31 but the K31 is a bit more accurate at distance for me. I fitted a left hand adapter to one of my K31s and scoped the other.

Only selling mine (in the for sale section, more pictures if you want) to fund an unhealthy Finnish Mosin addiction. They really are as accurate as everyone says. Apparently you can get three empties in the air at once if you try hard enough! Also fun seeing how far spent cases are flung!
