Interesting story this, of course blind people shoot on ranges, seen them do it and pretty good too, same with folk virtually 100% paralysed, trigger operated using a solenoid set up.

Anyway, what's interesting about this is the fact that it is a carry permit.

Now right away some will scream blue murder and witter on about all sorts of bad things happening when people other than highly trained   police have guns -maybe like the cops in New York. .

I don't think they pose any more of a safety/ danger issue than the average person, in fact I'd reckon they would be a safer bet.

However if it saves the life of just ONE blind person or maybe deters a would be POS from mugging said "blind" person then what's the problem - I am all for it.

Incoming  :run: :run: :run:

Near where I used to live there is St Dunstans (or Blind Veterans UK Charity), and they have a competition target .22lr rifle team and they shoot very well too. They also have a toxophily team too.

My 15 year old is registered blind and shoots every week he regularly shoots 60 rounds through a 1 inch radius circle at 25 metres off a bipod with both a bolt and semi 22lr.
The FEO came to the club (6 monthly check to see who uses the club as part of their reason to own guns) the night He came to see my son with the targets we gave to the FEO.

He asked the club secretary about the targets and was told that is normal for him if you want to see for yourself He is shooting at the moment.
