Flare pistols

Salut,

More appropriate for new year's eve than for shooting, some of my german flare pistols

clock-wise from the bottom left
- a double barrelled naval (KM) Sternsignalpistole Doppelschusssmodel
- a M37 heer
- a LW airforce double barrelled one
- a M42 heer
with the two types of holsters, early & late war, a flare pouch with unit marking and a bakelite flares storage box,
the big wodden box was designed to hold 500 flares (abt 55 kg)

The flare cartridges used by some modern armies (Germany, Czech Rep) are similar if not identical of those used in those WWII german flare pistols so there are plenty surplus ones available.

Freddy/Mark ... DB KM in stainless steel is nice ... very nice inded :good:
Do you collect them as well ?
I have to keep mine in France as they dont have to be deactivated there unlike here in England .

They don't have to be deactivated mine is on my FAC ,they only made 4000 d/b ss models.

It was taken from a captured U-boat have the name of the vet and boat number.
