Acquired another Marlin for the collection a couple of weeks back. Was giving it a little clean and remembered I hadn't taken a pic for posting..... One from the phone in cloudy conditions...

A 1905 vintage, Model 1892 in .22 LR. A tad unusual as it has a 28" barrel....

Very nice. :good:

Is it a shooter or just for collecting?

So, without your wife seeing, how many L/A's are in your collection now?

The rifle is a shooter, SimG aint!!

Bit of a shame though, calling it a "collection" when there's no Winchesters in the safe!

Shooting as well. All of the Marlins have a "shooting condition" attached to them as well as forming part of a collection. The wife mightn't see what I post, but as sure as eggs are eggs, there's a couple of here that would tell her!! :squirrel:

And don't listen to the fat hamster, Winchesters are only for those that believe Gun Smoke, Bonanza and the High Chapparal were documentaries....!

Lovely rile there Sim G! Pity new Marlin don't share the same build quality!

I have been hearing the rumblings about Marlin build quality recently and decided to have a look at what was going on at the CLA by popping over to the Edgar brothers stand. Frankly I was horrified! Poor fit and finish with chipped wood and scratches/dinks on the metalwork.
