Hrmph. My 308 loves H4895 - shoots .3s with lovely elevation and excellent performance. But. There is no h4895 anywhere.

Have tried N140 today and it's ok, but a .8 isn't going to cut it at long range. Any ideas for an alternative?

I can get IMR4895 but not sure for how long. Rmshot TAC looks an interesting one since it should also work in the .223 (which likes Varget so I have the same issue there...).

I did buy a tub of N140 but it is unopened so it is going back.

Any ideas on something else to try? Getting rather depressed at the mo!

Really surprised you didn't get decent results with N140. H335 I found to be a great powder efore going to N140.

IMR4895 as an alternative?

N140 works fine for me its all I use in my .308.

Sadly N140 doesn't work for me. Have some IMR4895 so will shoot that until supplies dry up.

Has anyone used TAC?

I have had very good results with all the Ramshot powders I have been using. I'm not a fan of the 308 and rarely shoot it so haven't tried TAC in that but it has done well in 303, 30-06, 7mm and a few other calibres I've tried.

TR 140, works for me in .223 and .308

Dauntsey Guns has got some H4895 in as well as Varget but it looks to be selling fast.

Have you tried Reloader 15 I have had great results with it, prior to that I was a slave to the N140 but it beats it hands down (for me anyway)

Hodgdon owns the IMR and Winchester powder brands and I have read that some powders are the same across the three brands just in different packaging, for example H414 and Win 760 have exactly the same reloading data on the Hodgdon website. Have a look across those three brands and see if any data matches - it might provide the information you're looking for.
