On the current application form it requires that a signiture from a "professional" that has known you for two years.
Am I stuffed as I havent known any for more than a year?
The closest is the Doctor, but even then they only stay at my surgery for around one year before leaving.
Would my employer be ok? Although we could hardly be said to know each other.
Only other thing is I could wait until the new form becomes valid.

I thought the FAC didn't require a professional to referee just someone who has known you for at least a couple of years and can vouch for your character and say it is you in the picture. the second referee should be a club official if it is for target shooting.
Or you can use the new Form 201 if you wait til December, which only has a small section for each referee and basically they have to state they don't see any reason why you shouldn't have a firearm or shotgun and that you are who you say you are.

The FAC application doesn't require a professional like a doctor etc like the SGC application does. Just someone who has known you personally for at least 2 years who isn't related etc..

Oh the referee should be of good character as well.
Not 'must' you notice.

I used an ex-services work colleague and a good friend I've known for 10 years.

As I understand it, you can use the new form now, if you can get a decent copy of it - I'm working on that. Club officials no longer have to act as refereees. Again as I understand it, the requirement to fill in the F125 Reference Form has not gone away. The referees bit on the new form is just the equivalent of the referees declarations on page 3 of the old form.

Morning Peeps,
Thanks for posting these. They seem to be, dare I say it, straight forward and logical. My only query is on the variation, does this now mean that we have to submit a form and license each time we dispose of of a firearm/shotgun, rather than the usual "ive sold it to ...Yes he has sold it to me...form ?
Other than that, we are always going to have forms and control systems and this seems quite bearable.
Just my 2p worth
