Modded BSA Martini Int. .22RF

Well its finally been done! Taken 5 months, and in the end couldn't do what they said they could do. Still pleased with it though. Need to find some bunnies to shoot now....
Original idea was to cut the barrel down to 16" (from 29"!!) and use the off cut barrel to make a moderator. Apparently though the bore wasn't central to the barrel so he couldn't do it. So after all the waiting he just fitted a standard SAK mod!!

p.s. before you ask, the bit of plastic under the scope is because on the original scope I had the cartridges came out so fast they actually damaged the scope!! So this stops that happening.

Looks interesting (I started my shooting with a Martini action) What does it weigh now and have you shot it yet?

Christel - yes it is. I've slept on it too out in the sticks in a shelter I built. Toasty!
Ovenpaa - Haven't shot it yet, going to have to wait until Surlingham(?), It's alot lighter but still not that light. Feels nicely balanced though, no shaking when holding it which is good. Might look at removing some of the stock and forend.

It must be close to the warmest you can sleep in outside, reindeer. Thick as anything.
Not sure if it beats Polar Bear...
How to clean it, wash it down with snow and you are done.

Never thought of using it as a background for photographing rifles.
Must be my artistic side coming out

I totally agree, I use as much natural materials as I can. Leather, merino, cotton, ventile, beats any of this synthetic rubbish. Its usually quieter and doesn't burn.

I had always wanted to see proper snow. When my nephew was born I was told that when he was old enough he would go to see Santa in Lapland. My family went out to celebrate my 40th birthday and I was presented with a calendar with a date marked on it and told to keep it free. The family had clubbed together to buy me a ticket for a day trip.
Had a great day, skidoo from the airport, sleigh ride, dog, sled ride, reindeer skin and antler bought in the shop to bring home.
