Seen that hodgedon sell 8lb bottles of powder in the USA but wasn't sure if they did in the uk.

A guy I was shooting with last week tells me he often bus 8lbs of varget when he finds stocks.

Does anybody know of this is imported and available at most places or were his bottles grey imports?

Have never seen them myself, would be handy for varget and tight group

Do hazmat/fire regulations not prevent the use of this size of container for retail?

Trade sellers still have the bigger sizes available

I can get Viht powders in 3.5kg & 20kg drums: the latter would take folk over their 15kg personal limit though

I have some Red Dot that came free with a press I bought...it's an 8lb drum!

You can only get Viht in bigger bottles (3 1/2kg) all the rest come in titchy, useless ones!

Didn't Norman Clarkes sell/advertise 8lb tubs of Varget a while back?

Major disappointment. A friend has just been granted a FAC and I have been reloading for him when making my own.

From a cost point of view it's great having somebody to share the outlay but we are burning through components at a pretty alarming rate. Would be nice to be able to stock up

Viht 20kg tubs are usually special order and not all Viht powders are available in the largest tubs here in the UK.

Wonder if we could bypass Edgar's and make a group buy bulk order direct from the usa

Ignoring the shortages of a lot of powders in the US at the moment even if every member of FB-UK ordered their full 15Kg allowance of powder it would still be a tiny order for US suppliers and not worth their while to export it here.

There are still a lot of other powders available here, Swiss Nitrochemie TR140 and Elcho 17, Ramshots range and NobelSport off the top of my head.

I recently got 8Kg of Vhit N140 from Dogyrog at a good price from his offer in the For Sale section (thanks ), I've also bought N135 and N310 from Jon (Saddler) from his bulk buy offer on another forum. Maybe the FB-UK members who are RFDs at various places throughout UK can organise more bulk buys so those unable to get to a dealer with stock can benefit.

That's what I was thinking if a forum RFD was up for doing something, even if we placed a order with a USA dealer. I'm not to fussed about costs, just want to get the bloody stuff
