I've had a quick search to see if I can find an answer but nowt came up... close... but not an answer to this question:

If I have a hold / buy of say 200/150 rounds.
And have 50 complete rounds in my safe, am I limited to purchasing 150 bullet heads, cases and primers? Or do the limits only count for assembled rounds?

Limits are ONLY on loaded rounds
BUT
If you are entitled to own Section 5 BULLETS, then these DO count toward the total allowance irrespective of their still being in the box they were sold in (the one that will say BULLETS on it) or loaded into primed charged cases to complete a live round of ammunition

Standard FMJ/Target BULLETS - fill yer boots, does no harm to have a few aside in case the local supplier runs short of them or you cannot get to the shop to buy, or a last minute invite comes your way, etc.

Bloody well hope not Mark or my ceiling may collapse for nothing....you will be amazed how much you pick up sign85 .

Like Saddler says, sec 5 is accountable as are complete rounds.

I'm glad I spotted this too, I'm sure it would have become clear before long, but to expand the question and reading between the lines here one could have a rather large supply of ammunition in component form which is fine, but at what point would the reloading folk here consider a dangerous amount of powder to have around?

I feel in danger of catching the reloading bug in the not too distant future, this is getting expensive :lol: I haven't tried a gun I haven't wanted yet either :roll:

The HSE says above 15Kgs and you need a licence, I would say 10-12kgs including primers and loaded ammunition is probably as far as most of the more enthusiastic UK shooters go.

I've a feeling that my financial circumstances would keep me well within those limits, reading here and chatting at the club makes me feel I'll be amongst the reloading gang for sure, strangely therapeutic, in life there's a sparkle in their eyes I feel akin to

Only expanding bullets count as section 5. Even .50bmg target billets are un restricted

There are a few more types of bullet other than expanding that are Section 5 and as you say, the solids/monolithic are not covered as they are simply bullet shaped lumps of metal.
