"...The proposal's backers say keeping soldiers' firearms locked up in armouries would reduce the suicide rate."

What nonsense IMHO, If someone wants to top themselves...they will.

Rob, that was my immediate response as well.

BTW, DK army and TA keep their weapons at home as well.

I think 'moments of tension' could easily be counted on one hand in our house over the last dozen years and they are usually very quickly closed with a 'Give me a hug you tw*t' or similar. Life is too short, anyway hugs are always fun. :P

Plus reminding a trained killing machine you have a gun strikes me as a rather dim thing to say...

That says more about Swiss marriages than it does guns.......
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

....... And the Swiss have voted to reject tighter controls.

Registration leads to confiscation.

It is, however, I am already planning to tell whatever grunting, non eye contact, long haired slob that my daughter for whom some outlandish idea finds pond life attractive, that I do have guns....... and a shovel....... and access to 385 acres........

My daughter (25 years old) has recently started what appears to be a serious relationship and Christel and I met the chap last time we were up in Derbyshire, he was pleasant to speak to, polite and quite reserved, maybe a tad wary?

I mentioned it to her afterwards and she gleefully admitted she had mentioned in passing that I shoot and know the Derbyshire moors rather well
