It reminds me of those firearms used by sailor types to ward off aggressors / pirates.
I wonder how the triggers work?

It is a side by side by side.

There was one doing the rounds a few year ago, can't remember where I saw it probably an auction catalogue, think it was by a Scottish gun maker.

It is unusual having all three barrels in the horizontal plane as they are more commonly stacked triangularly like drilings. Whatever it is it wouldn't have been a cheap gun and would no doubt be worth a pretty penny today.

Bore? Might be a 16 as I assume they would want to do anything to keep the weight down to keep handiness without loosing too much shot weight but hard to tell from the photo.

Its a sidelever action by the looks of it.

Lovely gun but it does feel as though you've had few nippy sweeties when you look at it.

Not sure I'd want to pay whatever its worth now for a curiosity gun.

Edwinson Green, Westley Richards, Boss, Dickson are all three barrel guns that were made and sold, in small numbers. This may be a 20 bore Dickson. Most had a single trigger for the first two barrels and a separate trigger for the third. The Dickson round action patent was originally conceived for a three barrel gun.

:o :D

That is definitely (99% sure) a Dickson Round Action in 16 gauge - 28" barrels and fitted with ejectors and if I remember three triggers (two articulated). It was built in the 1890s and I have actually handled it.

I think its called cheating!

I love to see these weird and wonderful designs. There always seems to be someone that will push the limits (or in some cases crash right through!!)
