C2R - Possible Stupid Question Alert

Hi all,

Probably a daft question but I'm going to ask it any way...

When cleaning a stainless steel barrel with C2R is it still necessary to run an oiled patch down the barrel once you are done?

Cheers,

Mick.

It might be advisable, ooman. Stainless steel isn't immune to corrosion, it just corrodes or stains less, hence the name. See here http://www.portlandworks.co.uk/history/ ... less-steel

I agree, if the rifle is not going to be used for a few days a light oiling is a good idea, just remember to pull a dry patch through before shooting it.

I always put a damp oiled patch down both my stainless barrels after cleaning and then just pull a boresnake through before shooting :goodjob:

Yea, do it.

Better still use the C2R oil, sticks like the proverbial to a blanket.

I usually give my action and barrel a wipe down with a patch with it on just to make sure...I pathologically hate rust ****

The C2R oil works very well indeed, just remember to patch through the bore before you shoot it!
